Going to a show at one of the many venues inside the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is always a fun night out. Need some help planning the perfect edible moments before or after the performance? Here’s our guide to the best restaurants and bars near the Dr. Phillips Center.
(Making a drink at home beforehand? Here are a few of our favorite cocktails to make at home.)
DINING
The Boheme
The Grand Bohemian Hotel
325 S Orange Avenue
Orlando favorite Chef Venoy Rogers is behind this steak-focused menu with classic sides and preparations.
Dovecote
390 North Orange Avenue
French food in a beautiful setting. Onion soup, steak frites, roast chicken, and mushroom risotto are some of our favorites.
Super Rico Colombian
57 West Central Blvd.
This is a casual pick, perfect for a quick bite when you’re heading to show but don’t have a lot of time. Colombian favorites include an arepa burger that’s outstanding.
Kres Chophouse
60 West Pine Street
This steakhouse, a stone’s throw from the DPC, also offers a separate vegan menu with meatless versions of steakhouse favorites.
Reyes Mezcaleria
821 N Orange Avenue
This restaurant is a bit farther than the others on our list, but it’s still close enough to be considered a downtown restaurant. High-end Mexican fare and delicious drinks (including a dang good margarita).
DRINKS & HAPPY HOURS
Either for pre-show cocktails or post-show nightcaps, consider checking out these stellar downtown bars and lounges, all just a short stroll from DPC.
The Bosendorfer Lounge (InsideThe Grand Bohemian Hotel)
325 S Orange Avenue
Mather’s Social Gathering
30 South Magnolia Avenue
This expansive bar also offers light bites including flatbread, nuts and olives and roasted fava beans.
